MemRabel is another creative care solution evolved from continued research and market experience from Medpage Limited T/A Easylink UK. Easylink UK, now in it’s 31st year of trading, has invented and patented several innovative products over the years. The first product was an alarm clock to wake deaf people. The alarm clock, originally called Travel Mate, later renamed Shake Awake, was the first custom designed and manufactured clock that incorporated a vibrating mechanism activated at the clock alarm time. The clock, positioned under the users pillow produces enough vibration to disturb the user from sleep. In 2011, we now introduce a special clock to aid people with dementia.
Following the introduction of the alarm clock, a smoke alarm system for deaf people was introduced to market in 1987. The system uses flashing light and vibrating pillow shaker to warn deaf people of fire in their home.
In 1995 the company changed direction after inventing and producing a piece of equipment to detect a person experiencing an epileptic seizure. The Medpage, uses specially designed sensors to detect unusual movement from a sleeping person. An alarm signal is generated and sent to a radio pager to warn a carer of an ongoing seizure. The development of the Medpage range led the company into Medical Devices and as such special accreditation and certification was required to enable our monitors, and in fact all of our products to be correctly CE marked and certified. Since 2004 Medpage Limited have held ISO 13485:2003 and ISO 9001/2008, so you can be assured of consistent monitored quality. From order to delivered goods our staff are trained to the highest standards to check every stage of the process and regularly have training revues.
We now introduce a new concept in alarm clocks. A clock that can help people with memory issues, people with dementia, people with learning disabilities, people with Alzheimer disease. The MemRabel 2, our latest development offers a simplistic solution to helping people remember the little things each day that can become unbearable if forgotten. So, how did the MemRabel come about? The MemRabel specification was drafted from a long list of regularly requested products from healthcare professionals. Starting with the clock, elderly people become confused with the time of day. Is it 6am or 6pm? During our winter months at both times it is dark. The MemRabel 2 offers a choice of time display screens to enable people of all cognitive ability to associate with the correct time of day. For people with visual impairments, MemRabel 2 has a choice of time displays with varying screen contrast with background and time display colour choices.
MemRabel 2, was the first daily calendar clock to offer timed playback of reminder messages. MemRabel 2 is supplied with pre-
